Programmed Skilled Workforce is currently looking for Mechanical Fitters to join the team at one of our client sites in Wacol.
Our client is a globally renowned manufacturer of hydraulic lifting, loading, and handling solutions. Their offerings typically include truck-mounted cranes, timber and recycling cranes, hooklifts, tail lifts, and more.
This is a permanent, full-time position with working hours between 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime during the week (between 5am to 7am) as well as on Saturdays.
What does the job look like?
As a Workshop Mechanical Fitter you will:
- Assist with the installation of new vehicle loading cranes and or hookloaders to specifications as per supplied specifications
- Perform modifications and installations for new or used vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders
- Assembly and disassembly of vehicle loading cranes and hookloaders
- Assembly of RHS subframes in line with engineering specifications
- Assist other workshop installation fitters with new crane or hookloader installs
- Complete all quality and process control documentation
- Install ancillary electrical, mechanical and or hydraulic components associated with pre delivery inspections or installations
- Gain an understanding of client specific crane terminology and technology
- Ensure all installations are done as per the clients’ installation guidelines and quality work is at the forefront of all decisions
- Maintain a quality approach to installations or Pre-Delivery Inspections regardless of time pressures or influences
Are you the one?
- Must be trade qualified within the mechanical or engineering related disciplines
- Current Drivers License (Truck License preferable (MR, HR))
- Forklift License (preferred but not mandatory)
- Prior experience working in a similar industry
- Experience in the manufacturing of transport equipment including trailers and/or in the truck or similar industry
- Fitting/Turning/Welding/Boilermaking/Fabrication/Hydraulics Engineering
- Experience with cranes and or hook loaders an advantage
- Experience with hydraulics a distinct advantage
- Time management to meet completion deadlines
- Problem-solving, attention to detail and good communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum of supervision as well as within small teams
