HOBAN Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled WHSMS Development Officer on behalf of our client to be located in either SYDNEY, CANBERRA, BRISBANE, MELBOURNE, ADELAIDE or PERTH.
This is temporary role to commence 26 February up to 15 July 2024. with the possibility of extension.
The role is also offered in a remote capacity, allowing for a flexible work arrangement.
About the Role:
As the WHSMS Development Officer, you will be a key contributor to the continuous improvement of our client's Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS). Collaborating with the Assistant Manager, Safety and Wellbeing, you will play a pivotal role in drafting and preparing priority documents within the WHSMS. Your responsibilities will include developing and delivering WHS policies, procedures, and supporting documentation, assessing and evaluating existing WHS policies, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders for the identification of needs related to WHSMS development.

- Analytical skills to identify critical gaps and propose practical solutions
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver WHS policies, procedures, and supporting documentation
- Assess, evaluate, and improve existing WHS policies, addressing organisational needs
- Engage with stakeholders to identify requirements for new or amended WHSMS documentation
- Collaborate with the Assistant Manager to address WHSMS deficiencies and provide progress briefs to key stakeholders

Additional Requirements:
- Post-graduate WHS qualification (desirable)
- Current security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain Baseline (Protected) level clearance
- Australian Citizenship is mandatory
