Elecnor has been contracted to build EnergyConnect, a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border.
This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy enabling a further 4950MW of generation capacity, save NSW customers $180 million a year and create 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW.
Construction of EnergyConnect is underway in various locations across the project area.
Purpose of this role:
The Yard Leading Hand role will assist the Yard Supervisor with day to day operation and supervision of the laydown yard at our Logistics Hub.
This role will be on a drive in, drive out basis to Deniliquin, NSW working on a 3/1 roster (21 days on, 7 days off) with accommodation provided.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Hands on leadership, coordinator and task execution function approach to the task
- Ensuring safe and timely loading and unloading of trucks with construction materials, general fright and plant.
- Receiving materials deliveries, coordinating the picking of call off orders
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with basic rigging and dogging of loads, forklifts and telehandlers operations for loading, unloading and inter yard movement of construction materials.
- Supervision and coordination of periodic crane use (including low volume single level shipping containers)
- Ensure material handling targets and deadlines are met
- Leading a team of yardman/operators (10+)
What you will bring:
- Current Whitecard
- High Risk Work Licenses - Forklift, Telehandler, Dogging, Rigging
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- HC Drivers license an advantage
- Basic computer skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organisational abilities
- Ability to meet material handling targets and deadlines
- Understanding and experience of rigging, truck, crane and handling safety
