An exciting opportunity to be a part of our thriving and successful international company exists in our Townsville branch for a highly motivated and reliable Yard Worker / Storeperson.
Your Role
Your role as part of our yard team is to provide ensure orders are picked, packed and loaded onto trucks safely. This includes checking paperwork, cross checking stock to ensure it is correct and communicating with the yard manager if there are any issues. You will be required to retain a forklift license and drivers license and keep it up to date.
What you’ll need
- Maintaining a valid forklift license is essential
- Previous experience in warehousing preferred
- Experience in timber industry advantageous but not essential
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Professional and friendly demeanour
- Strong attention to detail: able to pick correct products and cross check
- Ability to follow and comply with company policies and procedures
- Strong time management and reliability
- Able to pick, load and unload trucks safely and with minimal stock damage
- Can manage and prioritise jobs when necessary
- Compliant with all workplace health and safety policies
- Be physically fit and able to perform some manual handling tasks when required
