Job description

This role is part of the Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment (OCSE) team. The Youth Advisor will work closely with the rest of the team. You will undertake a broad range of activities that will make environmental information more accessible for children and young people.

Youth Advisors will also assist OCSE to understand the issues that are important and relevant for children and young people so aspects of our work can be tailored to these issues as appropriate.

Eligibility/Other requirements: Youth Advisors are young people who undertake the role in a part-time capacity, and the role is flexible enough to accommodate other commitments (e.g., tertiary studies).

The role is temporary and the contract period will be negotiated based on the project activities and required outputs/outcomes.
Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au)

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 10 April 2024 until 20 December 2024 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. This position is part-time at up to 25 hours per week and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata.
