The Young Aboriginal Support Program (yAsp) is seeking a dynamic, independent suitably experienced person for the role of Youth Case Manager.
About the role
The position will involve working as part of the Youth in Mind Outreach Team supporting young Aboriginal people aged 12-25 living in the North of Tasmania. The role supports young people through case management, groupwork, community activities and events.
Under the direction of the Clinical Lead and Youth in Mind Outreach Services Manager you will be responsible for:
- Providing evidence-based case management support for young Aboriginal people accessing the program
- Delivering evidence based psychosocial interventions, that are culturally appropriate for both groups and individuals
- Developing appropriate referral pathways for young people in areas of physical and mental health, education, training or employment and/or community engagement
- Assisting in the organisation and delivery of relevant community events, groups and activities including cultural arts based activities, health and wellbeing groups and school holiday programs.

Cornerstone Youth Services Inc. (CSYS) is the lead agency for Youth in Mind Outreach Services, based in Devonport, Burnie and Launceston. CSYS have been providing services to young people aged 12-25 in the community for over ten years. Website: www.cornerstoneyouthservices.com.au
What you’ll need
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Social/Behavioural Science, Social Work or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience in delivering case management support
Desirable
- Previous experience working in the youth sector
- Previous experience in developing and delivering group programs
- Experience in working with and an awareness of local Aboriginal communities
