Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as Youth Complex Worker. In this crucial role, you will provide clinical services to individuals aged 12-25 and their families, addressing moderate mental health problems and disorders.
The position sits within the Youth Complex stream of headspace Gosford and Lake Haven. The service provides assessment, assertive outreach and intensive case management, specifically aimed at engaging young people. The Youth Complex worker will triage, provide brief intervention, individual therapy, group activities, facilitate referral to support services and undertake comprehensive case planning for a range of young people who have self-harmed, attempted suicide or who have suicidal ideation. The Youth Complex worker will liaise closely with mental health professionals from headspace, CYPMH, Adult Mental Health Services, co-located partners and other relevant services to determine the appropriate clinical pathway or referral for young people who access headspace services.

About You
  • You have degree qualification/s and AHPRA registered in either Nursing or Psychology or Occupational Therapy, or Degree qualification in either Social Work or Social Science. AND a current Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • You have Postgraduate experience working within a within a Mental Health or Child and Adolescent Mental Health service.
  • Experience working within a crisis intervention model of care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and sensitivity to, the mental health needs of young people (12-25 years) and their families.
