This position forms part of the Rehabilitation Service and works closely with the Mental Health clinicians across Adult and Child and Adolescent service settings to facilitate seamless care and build the capacity of rehabilitation services to work effectively with youth and their families. This clinician works within a partnerships model that promotes collaborative partnerships with other government and non-government organisations and service providers such as Educational and Vocational Agencies and the Youth Sector.If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteriaEmployment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community. If you have any questions or would like guidance on the recruitment process, please contact the SESLHD Aboriginal Employment Team via email to:Selection Criteria: * Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award, current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Psychologist with a four year degree in psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
- Demonstrated competency in Mental Health Rehabilitation with an ability to plan, implement and evaluate individual and group clinical rehabilitation interventions
- Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation, and a strengths based and recovery focused approach to service provision
- Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to the Mental Health and developmental needs of young people (14-24 years) and their families.
- Ability to develop partnerships and community linkages with community organisations and to build capacity within these services and within Mental Health services in working with young people (14-24) with a mental illness
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and with a diverse range of stakeholders including consumers, families and service providers
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills (proficient in MS Office applications & relevant health databases)
- Current, unrestricted NSW Driver’s licence
