Youth Senior Support Worker / Team Leader
Aberstone Community Services provide vital supports and services to people living with disabilities and/or mental health in the community.
We are seeking applications for Youth - Senior SupportWorkers / Team Leader with the right values to join our NDIS Youth team.
A Full-time opportunity for a Youth Senior Support worker who wants to be on the fast track to team leader in our youth team, a passionate worker who wants to make a difference in the lives of our younger participants. Understands and works in the NDIS arena.
We are especially looking for the following:
- Youth Workers with the capacity to work a combination of shifts with young people and also be part time in the office.
- Learn about the NDIS, planning meetings, funding and service delivery.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a multi disciplined team.
- Learn and show the ability to lead a small team
- Located in both the Perth Northern and Southern suburbs, based in Balcatta and our Cockburn office.
We dream big to kick goals with our participants by working alongside them in a holistic and person-centered way. Our days are never the same. You will assist Participants to have choice and control around supports that enable them to build life skills and connect to their local community.
Essential Criteria and what you will bring to the role:
- Must have a Certificate IV in Youth Work or higher
- The ideal youth worker will have passion, great values, and a can-do attitude
- A friendly and positive outlook;
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team;
- Qualifications in Disability, Individual Support, or recovery work in the area of mental health, would be an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to work with people with diverse needs and preferences;
- Excellent verbal communication to interact with a wide range of customers, their families, carers, community agencies, and other professionals;
- Enthusiastic and engaging with customers;
- Understanding of professional boundaries, privacy, and confidentiality issues;
- Willing and able to provide domestic assistance services if required on some shifts
- Good written communication, computer, and mobile device skills; have a mobile phone and access to a computer;
- A proactive approach to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and customers;
- Current Australian Driver’s License;
- Reliable and roadworthy motor vehicle to travel to customers’ homes and assist them to access the community, including comprehensive motor vehicle insurance and registration;
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check;
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate;
- Working with Children Card; or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid Certificate;
- Current CPR Certificate
- Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia;
