Are you a skilled Youth Worker, experienced in working with adiverse range of young people and looking for your nextchallenge?
Join our Youth Development team in their purpose-built facility,the Rockingham Youth Centre.
You have a thorough understanding of current issues facing youngpeople aged between 12-24 years and have experience in developingand facilitating programs and initiatives to meet targetedidentified needs. Experienced in engaging with young people in avariety of settings (including Youth Centres, outreach settings,schools, and youth events), you have successfully provided casemanagement, support, information, referral and advocacy to youngpeople.
As a community minded individual who understands and enjoysworking with young people, you are committed to influencingpositive change and community capacity building. Your excellentinterpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with a diverserange of young people conveys your passion for involving andengaging them in the development of recreational, behavioural andlife skill programs. Comfortable to work in both one-on-one andgroup settings, you assist with sensitive issues in a confidentialand supportive manner while understanding and maintaining importantboundaries.
To be considered for this role, you must address thefollowing selection criteria in your onlineapplication:
- A degree in Youth Work, Community Development, Social Science or significant experience in these areas
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of youth issues and youth work approaches
- Demonstrated experience in provision of advocacy, information, referral and support to young people
- Demonstrated experience in planning and implementation of activities, workshops and groups for young people aged 12-24 years
- Current Working With Children Check, and C Class Drivers Licence
We are offering a gross salary of $82,627 per annum,and:
- 11% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
