Kairos Community College is a small, independent school offering a flexible and supportive approach to young people in Years 10 to 12 to achieve their education and training aspirations. Operating for almost a decade, our original campus is in Deception Bay and our Caloundra campus proudly welcomed a full cohort for the first time in 2022. Our amazing staff are proud of their role in helping 100% of our Year 12 students achieve their QCE every year since our inception.
An opportunity has become available for a Youth Worker to join our Deception Bay campus on a permanent, full-time basis, with the successful candidate commencing either the 30th of September 2024 or beginning January 22nd 2025 dependent on our chosen candidates needs. You will be highly relational and genuinely interested in developing relationships with young people whilst upholding key structures within the school. You have an ability to create and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment with high expectations.
The successful applicant will be a highly skilled in Youth Work practices. They will be willing to work in an educational environment which isn't a typical youth work role and the challenges that come with it. They will have a demonstrated ability in working with young people through challenging life circumstances whilst ensuring they cater for their own wellbeing. The Youth Worker role at Kairos encompasses many roles and a willingness to embrace these in an educational environment is a must. The successful applicant will have a strong relational focus to their practice, a willingness to adapt their practice framework to align with the organisations and the skills to run programs such as Volunteering.
