YAC has a multidisciplinary team delivering services across the greater Brisbane area generally, to young people aged 10-18 years who are involved in, or at risk of involvement in the youth justice and/or child protection systems, and/or are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

About You:
YAC is seeking a person who is enthusiastic about working with young people with complex needs, enjoys advocating for young people and responding to their support needs. Join our Bail Support Service Team!
You will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Services, Social Work or similar with 2 years’ experience OR at least 5 years’ work experience in similar roles
- Possession of a “C” class Driver’s Licence
- Possession of a Working with Children Blue card
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and oral communication skills particularly with young people with complex needs.
- Sound understanding of outreach support work with young people, client centred, trauma informed and strengths based practice.
- Ability to undertake brief assessments and referrals for young people’s support needs (accommodation, income, education/training, family, substance use and mental health etc).
- Cultural capability, particularly in engaging and working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people, families and communities, but also peoples of CALD background, LGBTIQ young people and young people with a disability.
- Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and manage own time efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders.
- Excellent record keeping skills including proven competence using computer programs (Word, Excel, etc).
- Commitment to YAC’s values and social justice principles.
- Commitment to social justice and human rights principles, particularly in relation to children and young people
