This Register does not preclude other Youth Worker positions from being advertised.DutiesProvide operational and outcome focused support to young people who are in the Out of Home Care System in Tasmania.Conditions of Employment:

• Salary: $79,529 to $91,517 pro rata per annum (paid as hourly rate) + 11% Superannuation
• Classification: General Stream Band 4
• Award/Agreement: Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award
• Location: State-Wide
• Hours of Work: Fixed-Term and Relief work starting ASAP for a period of up to 12 months

Essential Requirements

• The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

• Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).
• Current Driver's Licence
• The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
• Conviction checks in the following areas:
• crimes of violence
• sex related offences
• serious drug offences
• crimes involving dishonesty
• serious traffic offences
• Identification check
• Disciplinary actions in previous employment check
