Duration of the training program: 12 months from 3/2/25 up to 1/2/26
Term of the Contract: 3 Years in line with clause 52 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement
At the end of the training program, CALHN will work with the employee to find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3 year contract.
About the role
You will contribute to the provision of a Clinical Immunology and Allergy Service within the objectives and philosophies of the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). Providing inpatient and ambulatory care, you will implement protocols for drug and food allergy testing, drug desensitisation and venom immunotherapy. You will manage inpatient consultations in combination with the Consultants, and whilst on ward duty you will be responsible for the admission and continuing management of Clinical Immunology patients, including elective day patient admissions. As part of your role, you will participate in unit research projects and contribute to the unit’s teaching program in aspects of Clinical Immunology as directed by Clinical Immunology Consultant staff and as required by the RACP. Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration. You will need to be competent and confident in the management of anaphylaxis, and skilled in managing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Ambulatory Care Day Unit (ACDU). Demonstrating the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a multidisciplinary team, you will maintain a strong spirit of cooperation whilst retaining a primary focus on the provision of patient care.
