2025 Graduate Program - Workplace Health and Safety - Sydney Based

  • Starting salary package: $94,888.79 (inclusive of superannuation)

As a Transgrid Graduate, you will immerse yourself into a variety of rotations across the Health, Safety and Environment Business unit, while developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Health and Safety programs, initiatives and practices. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, strategy and reporting, identifying and mitigating workplace hazards and risk management, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organisation with construction project WHS and change management.

Throughout the program, you will undergo four 6-month rotations across our Major Projects and People, Culture and Safety teams. With access to both internal and external development opportunities, you will expand your professional network and refine your skills in a supportive environment.

Whether you are nearing the end of your university studies or have recently graduated, we welcome your application to join us from January 2025.

Note: Graduate Program positions are fixed salary two-year full-time roles, with guaranteed employment at the completion of the program.

To be eligible for consideration for the Graduate Program, you must:

  • Hold a University Qualification in any of the following disciplines:

  • Social Science (OHS)

  • Occupational Health and Safety

  • Demonstrate ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines

  • Exhibit environmental and socially responsibility

  • Possess qualities of a team player, including motivation and willingness to learn

  • Demonstrate lateral thinking and the ability contribute to innovative solutions for complex problems

  • Excel in collaboration with others

  • Communicate clearly

  • Show appreciation for and sensitivity to difference and diversity

  • Be an Australian permanent resident or citizen, OR hold a suitable Permanent Employment Visa

  • Be a current University Graduate or expected to Graduate by the end of 2024

The recruitment process and steps:

  • Step 1: Eligibility

  • Confirm your eligibility for the business area you are applying for, including appropriate degree required for the role.

  • Step 2: Submit application

  • Create a profile on our careers site and submit your application.

  • NOTE: You must upload a resume, however a cover letter is not required.

  • Step 3: Screening

  • The recruitment team will review your application and notify you if your application is considered unsuccessful.

  • Step 4: Online testing

  • If you are successfully screened, you will be sent an email to complete online cognitive testing, inclusive of a 12-minute online test for numeracy, literacy and abstract reasoning.

  • Step 5: Online video interview

  • If you have successfully passed the benchmark for the online cognitive testing, you will be invited by email to complete your online one-way video interview consisting of 3 questions related to your interest in the program, situational awareness and resolving problems.

  • Step 6: Shortlisting

  • The recruitment team will review your online video interview and notify you if your application is considered unsuccessful.

  • Step 7: Assessment Centre

  • If you are successfully shortlisted, you will be invited to attend our in-person Assessment Centre which will be held in Parramatta in May 2024.

  • Step 8: Pre-Employment Checks

  • Successful candidates from the Assessment Centre will be invited to complete pre-employment checks.

  • NOTE: Reserve candidates will also be invited to complete pre-employment checks.

  • Step 9: Offer of Employment

  • Preferred successful candidates will be contacted and made a verbal offer of employment, which will be followed by a formal offer that will be sent by email.
