Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s (JKW&C) at Sunshine Hospital, Western Health is one of the fastest growing maternity services in Australia dedicated to delivering excellent health outcomes to women of all ages, identities and cultures, and new born babies.
JKW&C has expertise in general and high-risk maternity services and the care of newborn babies and gynaecology. It is a major teaching hospital with strong affiliations to the Universities of Melbourne and Notre Dame, with research and education integral to its role. This position offers you a broad experience in all aspects of Obstetric Medicine provided by consultants across a full range of medical specialities.
To be successful within this role you will need to have significant experience in general medicine and/or a relevant speciality area. It is suitable for an advanced FRACP trainee and is accredited by RACP for training in General Medicine. The post has 12 months accredited training with the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (SOMANZ) and enables trainees to obtain certification in Obstetric Medicine at the completion of 12 months of training.
It is important to note that due to Western Health’s commitment to providing the best clinical experience and education for our junior doctors, rotations are evaluated and may vary from year to year.

The classification and salary scale will be dependent on experience and you will be appointed and in accordance to the Doctors in Training – (Victorian Public Health Sector) (AMA Victoria/ASMOF) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2022 – 2026.
