About the role
Paediatric Registrars at Eastern Health will rotate through Box Hill Hospital and Angliss Hospital. Paediatric Registrars are supported by friendly, enthusiastic paediatric consultants 24hours, 7 days a week. The busy units provide experiences including acute assessment, emergency paediatric medicine, inpatient general paediatrics, eating disorders, and neonatal medicine. There is ample opportunities for clinics in General Paediatrics, Eating Disorder Clinic, Neurology, Developmental Assessment, Allergy and Dermatology.
Box Hill Hospital is accredited by the RACP as a secondment hospital for basic trainees (rotated through the Victorian Basic Paediatric Training Consortium) and for Advanced training in General Paediatrics with perinatal component.
Angliss Hospital is accredited for Advanced training in General Paediatrics with perinatal component.
Trainee Positions
13.5 positions - 6 or 12 months (combined positions are 12 months contract)
2 x Eastern Health General Paeds 6months / Monash Newborn 6months
2 x Eastern Health General Paeds 6months / Eastern Health CYMHS 6months
8.5 x Eastern Health General Paediatrics
1 part-time Eastern Health Senior Paediatric Registrar
Trainee Level
Preferably Advanced Trainee. Will consider Continuing Basic Trainee, Paediatric Emergency Medicine Trainee and Internal Medical Graduate with sufficient experience in neonatal care and emergency paediatrics.
Roster and on-call
Rotating roster 24/7 through paediatric ward, SCN, emergency department, outpatients.
Protected teaching time.
Wards
Box Hill Hospital:
16 paediatric beds (Paediatric Medicine, Eating Disorder, Paediatric Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedic, Plastic)
12 bed level 4 SCN (2700 deliveries per year)
Very busy emergency Department
Angliss Hospital
8 paediatric beds (SSU/CDU)
8 bed level 3 SCN (2300 deliveries per year)
Busy emergency department
Junior Staff
12 residents (7 at Box Hill, 5 at Angliss)
16 registrars: 13 registrars appointed by Eastern Health, 2 x Victorian Basic Paediatric Training Consortium Registrars, 1 Rotating Registrar from RCH. (VBPTC amd rotating registrars not appointed through this process)
1 part-time senior Registrar

About you

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
