• Applications from registered Medical Practitioners with an interest in Rehabilitation Medicine are welcomed to join our dynamic team.
• At Eastern Health we have three Rehabilitation Medicine Registrar training positions, all accredited with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (RACP).
• One position is located at Peter James Centre, in Burwood East. Two positions are located in the rehabilitation unit at Angliss hospital in Ferntree Gully which provides neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
• There are a number of ambulatory rehabilitation clinics at each site, including Rehabilitation Medicine clinic, focal spasticity clinic, amputee clinic, chronic-pain clinic.
• Registrar duties include clinical management of rehabilitation inpatients, assessment and review of patients attending outpatient programs, supervision of Junior Medical staff, participation in the in-service training program for the rehabilitation teams, participation in undergraduate medical student teaching and involvement in research and quality programs being undertaken by the rehabilitation services.
• Eastern Health is committed to providing a comprehensive training experience for its Rehabilitation Medicine trainees. Registrars are expected to attend the weekly statewide rehabilitation training program. Local education will be structured according to the requirements of the individual registrars.
