AddressAn exciting opportunity for a 12 month, temporary assignment with a government department focused on improving dam infrastructure across NSW.
The role requires an experienced 2D Design Drafts Person with at least six years across 2D design drafting specifically within the dams infrastructure space.
The role
The position will be focused on the design of two dams in regional NSW, among other infrastructure related projects.
Demonstrable ability to produce/provide:
- CAD 2D civil detailed design drawings for dam structures that include intake tower, access bridge extension, outlet tunnel and valve chamber.
- CAD 2D mechanical detailed design drawings of components (e.g. pipework, trashracks etc.) related to the dam structures.
- CAD 2D civil detailed design drawings of a pumping station and inlet structure.
- CAD 2D mechanical tender drawings of components (e.g. pipework, valves etc.) related to the pump station.
- CAD 2D mechanical detailed design drawings of components (e.g. pipework, operating platform, trashracks etc.) related to the inlet structure.
- Provide high level technical advice to engineers using modern engineering design packages such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative engineering outcomes for NSW Public Works and its clients.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or similar qualification)
- Demonstrate a minimum of 6 years' broad experience in a range of Civil and Mechanical engineering infrastructure projects, specifically across Dam projects.
- High level knowledge and be able to demonstrate high level of proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation packages
- Proven knowledge and experience of engineering design standards associated with civil and mechanical works
