Based in our Dalby Workshop on an initial 5/2 roster (meals and accommodation provided if working away from home on project sites), you will provide ongoing maintenance and repairs to our diverse mobile heavy plant fleet, minimising downtime across our large-scale rural and remote projects. This role offers variety with future DIDO roster opportunities (varying, flexible rosters), potentially extending to FIFO across Australia. 

You will bring a positive ‘can-do attitude’ and be able to work collaboratively, with a safe approach to productivity. This role provides you with variety, new challenges and opportunities for growth.  

About the Role

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Mechanical servicing and support is provided in workshop and on local project sites.
  • Preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications and machinery overhaul 
  • Hydraulic and Electrical diagnostics.
  • Component Rebuilds: Engines ranging from light plant up to CAT 3412s, Transmissions, Differentials, Hydraulic pumps/cylinders and associated valving.
  • You’ll be working on: Graders (140-16M), Scrapers from (623 – 657), Dozers (D6 - D10), Loaders, Excavators, Articulated and On Highway Trucks and Fixed Plant. 

About You

  • You are a working towards your Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent;
  • You have a valid, Manual Australian Driver’s Licence; 
  • You have a valid General Construction Induction - White Card (or willingness to obtain);
  • Experience and general knowledge of the construction industry, civil engineering and environmental principles and relevant legislation/standards is highly regarded or willingness to learn;
  • Willingness to work away on different project sites Australia-wide; and
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
