Job description

Based in our Dalby Workshop on an initial 5/2 roster (meals and accommodation provided if working away from home), you will provide ongoing maintenance and repairs to our diverse mobile heavy plant fleet to minimise downtime across our large-scale rural and remote projects. This role offers variety with future DIDO/FIFO roster opportunities (varying, flexible rosters) across Australia. 

About the Role

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Mechanical servicing and support is provided in workshop and on local project sites.
  • Preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications and machinery overhaul 
  • Hydraulic and Electrical diagnostics.
  • Component Rebuilds: Engines ranging from light plant up to CAT 3412s, Transmissions, Differentials, Hydraulic pumps/cylinders and associated valving.

You’ll be working on: Graders (140-16M), Scrapers from (623 – 657), Dozers (D6 - D10), Loaders, Excavators, Articulated and On Highway Trucks and Fixed Plant. 

About You

  • You hold a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) with demonstrated experience
  • You have a valid, open Australian Driver’s Licence 
  • You have a valid General Construction Induction - White Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience and general knowledge of the construction industry, civil engineering and environmental principles and relevant legislation/standards is highly regarded or willingness to learn;
  • Willingness to work away on different project sites Australia-wide;
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
