Upon hisreturn to Melbourne, Tony put theory into practise, and began working in thefamily garage to address some of the product deficiencies he’d encountered onhis trip. It was exactly what Australian 4WDers had been waiting for, and ARB,the initials of Anthony Ronald Brown, was founded. Today, ARB is Australia’slargest manufacturer and distributor of 4×4 accessories.
Overview of Position
The main responsibility of the holders of the 4x4 Technicianposition is the modification of vehicles to improve their performance andsafety for offroad and towing use, predominantly through the installation andfitment of ARB products. 4x4 Technicians will be required to complete theirwork in a timely manner, while adhering to safe operating procures and OHSrequirements at all times.
Organizational Scope
You will report to the Workshop Supervisor, or in caseswhere a branch has no workshop supervisor, to the Branch manager.
Key Responsibilities
Fitting upgraded suspension systems, upgraded exhaustsystems, differential locking kits, fuel tanks, towing equipment and storagesolutions and other parts as per work instruction from the Branch Retail Salesteam.
Detecting and diagnosing faults
Removing and refitting steering mechanisms and othercomponents, and checking parts
Replacing worn and defective parts, reassembling mechanicalcomponents, and referring to service manuals as needed
Caring for and looking after all workshop tools andequipment.
Key Performance Indicators
• Quality and timely mechanical work within specified ARBdeadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with the workshop team.
Required Skills, Behaviors and Experience
• Motor vehicle repair certificate required in WA and NSW.
• Certificate III or higher as an AutomotiveTechnician/Motor Mechanic.
• Current driver’s license.
• Drive and determination to learn on the job.
• Passion for 4WD industry.
• Attention to detail.
This is for a Full time/ Permanent Position
Salary Range: $$70,000 to $80,000
