The Brisbane School District graduates students who are thoughtful, prepared, and engaged citizens. Our program emphasizes conceptual understanding, teaching the Common Core State Standards through year-long themes. With an emphasis on higher order thinking skills, we focus on understanding, evaluating, and creating. We thread Lifeskills throughout our curriculum with the goal of providing our children the tools for citizenship and life. We are a small, public school district serving under 500 total students in grades TK-8. Our boundaries encompass parts of the cities of Brisbane, Daly City, and South San Francisco in northern San Mateo County.

Job Summary
The teacher hired for this position will teach two daily STEM core periods and will teach one additional class (an elective to be determined by principal and successful applicant). Using the Next Generation Science Standards and the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, the teacher will develop instructional units which will help students see the connections between mathematical concepts and their real-world science applications in an integrated instructional program.

- Valid multiple subjects teaching credential (preferred) OR credentials authorizing instruction in mathematics AND science. Applicant must have or be immediately eligible for the California teaching credential or intern teaching credential. - Experience teaching both math and science at the middle school level preferred. - Authorization to teach English-language learners - Resume (A resume provides so much more detail than the EdJoin form.) - Letter of Introduction (Please tell us about your philosophy of teaching.) - 3 letters of recommendation - Transcripts - 3 references

Placement on the salary schedule is determined by the Superintendent, based upon education and experience of candidate. You will need to provide official transcripts to support your salary schedule placement. Salary range quoted above is for full-time, year-long teaching and will be prorated based upon start date. Final candidate will be fingerprinted (at our expense) in accordance with California law. Final candidate must show recent evidence of being free of active TB prior to employment. This position is open until filled; however, applications will be reviewed as they are received and interviews scheduled accordingly.
