DutiesTo engage parents/carers of Aboriginal children from birth to four years in the education of their children. The role will contribute to improved kindergarten enrolment and attendance by providing parents with knowledge and skills to enhance their support for children’s learning and preparedness for school entry.
Period of AppointmentASAP until 20 December 2024
Hours per fortnight73.5 hours per fortnight
Essential Requirements
- The Head of the State Service has determined that this position is an Aboriginal Identified Position and that it can only be filled by Aboriginal people or Torres Strait Islanders in accordance with Employment Direction 10 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment in the Tasmanian State Service.
- Aboriginality. The State Service Commissioner has determined that this position is an Aboriginal identified position and that it will be filled in accordance with Ministerial Direction No.12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment in the State Service
- The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.
• Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).
Desirable Requirements
- A Current Drivers Licence.
