- Salary $75,430 - $79,070 p.a. (pro rata) OPS4 | Part Time, 30 hours p/w, Until May 2025
Join the Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care team as a Aboriginal Health Practitioner.
The Aboriginal Health Practitioner will work together with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams to develop a planned approach to engage with Aboriginal people and the community. Engagement, learning and sharing is an expectation for this role across the care continuum. You work collaboratively with the clinical staff, allied health professionals and other service providers and agencies and actively contribute to the multidisciplinary team processes.
About the Role:
As the Aboriginal Health Practitioner, your duties can include:
- Contributing to effective consultation with staff, wider health teams and the community to gain support and commitment for culturally appropriate health care programs
- Work as part of multidisciplinary team to coordinate the continuity of care and maximise client participation
- Contributing to eliciting and understanding the needs of the Aboriginal community
- Participate in training and support training programs that enable Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal heath workforce to further develop competency in providing culturally safe care in rehabilitation
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care- (Practice)
- Registration with AHPRA as Registered Aboriginal Health Practitioner
- Experience in working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
- Demonstrated ability to work under limited directions both independently and part of a multidisciplinary team
