About the Role
The Aboriginal Liaison Officer will develop networks, participate in community projects, provide support to local committees and other community groups and liaise with Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal organisations throughout the Pilbara in the interests of Yurra.
The Aboriginal Liaison Officer will also mentor and support the Yurra leadership group and ensure culturally safe practices and working environment for the Yurra mob.

Selection Criteria
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as per the 50d of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act
• Comprehensive experience in establishing relationships with external support services/providers
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in providing assistance, mentoring/coaching and support for our Managers, First Nation employees and broader community
• Experience in advocating on behalf of Aboriginal clients and demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal culture, customs, and community.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of records and information
• Ability to work autonomously with demonstrated ability to remain completed and positive under pressure
• Well-developed interpersonal and negotiations kills and ability to work and develop collaborative partnerships
• Computer literacy skills
