About the Role:

As an Aboriginal Liaison Officer, you will:

  • Enhance access to mainstream health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Promote and deliver culturally safe healthcare services.
  • Support patients in navigating the healthcare system.
  • Work within communities to break down barriers to care.

Position Overview:

  • Permanent, Full-Time Position: 80 hours per fortnight with a monthly ADO.
  • Location: Warrnambool Campus.
  • Role: Community Development Worker.
  • Salary: $60,398.00 - $69,685.20 pro rata, plus superannuation. (Renumeration according to experience /qualification)

What You Bring:

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and services.

 Qualifications:

  • Preferred but not essential: Grade 3 Cert IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice/Community) or equivalent.
  • Proven knowledge of Aboriginal culture, society, and kinship networks.
  • Understanding of primary and secondary health issues affecting Aboriginal communities.
  • Experience in the Aboriginal Health sector (preferred but not essential).
