The SWSLHD Drug Health Services (DHS) Aboriginal Drug & Alcohol Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, planning, development and implementation of drug and alcohol services, partnerships and projects.The Program Coordinator will work in partnership with DHS, the SWSLHD Aboriginal Health Unit and other Aboriginal and Health Services to improve the health and to reduce the drug and alcohol related harm for Aboriginal people with substance use issues in SWSLHD. They will support DHS Aboriginal Health Workers.What You'll be Doing

- Tertiary qualifications in social science, health or related field, or relevant work experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with Aboriginal communities and services.
- Knowledge of substance use issues, harm reduction and treatment strategies with the ability to provide cultural support and advice to clinicians and Aboriginal consumers in Drug Health settings.
- Experience in providing leadership and supervision of Aboriginal Health Workers in Aboriginal Health Services.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, design, implementation and evaluation of services within an evidence based framework.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication (including group facilitation) and computer skills.
- Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
