Job description

Information for Expressions of Interest (EOI)

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for two Panel Members on our Access & Inclusion Advisory Panel (the Panel) to provide expert advice in improving access and inclusion for people with disability. Our Panel was first established in 2013.

Your expertise in the disability sector gained as a person with disability, family member or carer, worker or academic will help to inform actions to achieve the outcomes of our Disability Access & Inclusion Plan.

The role of the Panel is to:

“Provide strategic, expert and impartial advice to the Administration on the development, implementation, monitoring and review of policies, strategies, projects and plans with the aim to advance the inclusion of people with a disability”.

Full details of the role and functions of the Panel can be found here Access & Inclusion | City of Adelaide, including our Terms of Reference, which are currently under review.

What is the commitment required of Panel members?

If successful, individual Panel members will be asked to commit to a two-year membership with a right to be reappointed for a further year. Individuals may be members for up to a maximum of three years. It is envisaged that the Panel will meet approximately 4 times per year on dates and at places to be set out in advance. Meetings are likely to be between two and four hours.

Will I get paid for my time?

Individual Panel members will be paid a sitting fee of $55 per hour for each official meeting they attend in recognition of their commitment of time and expertise, as well as a 1 hour reading fee. In addition, members are also paid $50 per meeting as contribution towards participation costs. Individual Panel members will also be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses incurred by attending meetings such as payment for a support person or transport expenses.

How do I apply?

To be considered for membership of the Panel you must submit an expression of interest including a CV and a cover letter outlining how you meet the selection criteria outlined in the Terms of Reference. You will find the selection criteria under Term Eight. Please detail in your cover letter any lived experiences of disability.

You can apply by submitting your EOI to the CoA by midnight, Tuesday 5 March 2024.  You can submit your expression on interest on our recruitment site linked here:
