Your new job
This is a 4 day a week role and provides diversity to work across two pivotal programs at Werribee headspace - 3 days as an Access Team Clinician and 1 day as an Enhanced Access to Mental Health in Schools Clinician. These roles form part of a multidisciplinary approach to Mental Health care for young people.
You will
  • Work under the direction of the Clinical Services Manager to provide comprehensive youth-friendly Mental Health services.
  • Provide a comprehensive intake service to young people, family and friends, community members and professionals seeking services.
  • Conduct initial assessments with young people and their families/carers, using the agreed headspace psycho-social assessment tool, to determine client suitability for ongoing headspace services.
  • With regular supervision, provide clinical psychological assessment, formulation and individual intervention for a variety of Mental Health issues to young persons referred to headspace.

  • Participate in regular clinical case review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure appropriate, consistent and integrated service pathways and service delivery response for young people and their families/carers.
  • With regular supervision, provide clinical psychological assessment, formulation and individual intervention for a variety of Mental Health issues to young persons referred to headspace.
  • Effectively communicate with all key stakeholders, providing appropriate coordination, liaison and referral as appropriate for those students
What you’ll need
You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
  • Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (such as psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing) and full registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration with AASW.
  • Able to demonstrate competence in provision of Mental Health care, including completion of Mental Health assessments; risk assessment and crisis intervention/safety planning; evidence based individual and group interventions to young people experiencing Mental Health and/or substance use problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine and plan for a young person’s recovery and support needs, employing a shared-decision making approach.
  • Ability to work hours between 5-8pm weekdays and some Saturday hours as directed by the Clinical Services Manager.
  • A current Victorian’s drivers licence is required

This is a part time (0.8 FTE) ongoing role, subject to funding.
