Account Manager - Bus Sales

Our continued expansion has created a tremendous opportunity for a suitably experienced Sales Account Manager to join our team. With company owned and managed retail and service outlets, as well as local assembly capabilities, VDI have become a prized organisation to join, especially due to our increasing competitiveness and a sustained growth trajectory.
Due to our increasing growth, we require another Sydney based Account Manager for our New South Wales region to further support our highly experienced and successful sales team. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be highly motivated and personally committed to their success. In return, VDI will provide a regular salary, superannuation and other benefits, full product training, ongoing support and monthly payment of commission’s.
The successful person possesses some or all the skills below -
- Excellent people skills are necessary as relationships in our industry are as important as the product solutions we provide. A warm, friendly, and outgoing personality is essential.
- Australian bus industry knowledge and experience is preferred although similar experience in other industries such as truck sales or heavy machinery sales will also be highly regarded
- Prior sales management experience in a related market.
- An ability to work well autonomously and methodically as part of a larger team with a positive, can-do approach and a desire to exceed sales targets
- A current heavy vehicle drivers' licence
- Pentana experience desired
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical understanding of Bus with the ability to advise customers on options
- Full understanding of licensing and relevant legal requirements relevant to Bus
- Strong organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and time manage
- Ability to deliver agreed goals while operating in a high-pressure environment
Some of the expected duties and responsibilities are -
- Proactively identifying new prospective customers and gain an understanding of how the Yutong product can meet their business needs +
- Utilise your high sense of business ethics to deal with customers fairly and represent the VDI Australia brand in a favorable light
- Work closely with other sections of the VDI Australia business to ensure customer satisfaction is met or exceeded
- Comprehensively maintain the CRM database to ensure sales opportunities are maximised, management are aware of your sales pipeline progress and that our customers are proactively managed
- Prepare quotes for Bus Sales customers
- Undertake regular travel throughout NSW where and when required with occasional interstate and overseas travel requirements to meet business objectives.
- Assist in the co-ordination of and attend Bus Shows, Conferences and Regional Seminars.
- Promote Yutong Bus brand within the Australian bus industry at sponsored events
- Achieving set Bus Sales targets set out in KPI’s
- Pursuing profitable growth opportunities
- Exceptional relationship management with existing and potential bus customers
- Analysis of the NSW market area to identify means of attracting new customers
- Responding to all post-sale product queries and maintaining relationships with existing customers to ensure excellent levels of customer service are maintained
- Actively and diligently following up with customers to ensure their expectations are met
- Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands customer base and extends global reach
- Support, lead, and promote sustainability practices in the workplace in conjunction with management direction
- Liaise with external suppliers on bus pre-delivery to ensure that all Bus Sales remain on target to meet customer demands
- Ensure that all bus deliveries are forecasted accurately.
- Keep current with industry associations and government regulations to understand bus market opportunities, while being fully aware of new and existing competitor products.
- Use your computer literacy skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. to create convincing customer presentations and internal reports
- Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands customer base and extends global reach
