Account  Manager – Security Services ACT

Millennium is an ASX listed, multi-disciplined services organisation carrying out commercial cleaning, security and facility service provision throughout Australia and New Zealand with a premium industry reputation.

Our ACT office is based in Fyshwick 

About the role 

The ACT State Manager – Security role is a key leadership role in our Security Services Division. The successful candidate will lead a diverse and innovative team in providing Security Services to our clients across the ACT. In addition, you will contribute to the development and implementation of our growth strategy as part of the national leadership team in ensuring we continue to delight our existing clients and build relationships with new clients through the innovative services that we offer. You will have experience within the Security sector leading a diverse, multi-site, diverse industry, multi-million dollar revenue people business. Having a security license as well as demonstrated security and management experience is essential.

You will be a key member of a diverse and inclusive operations team and integral to its continuing success.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • We are a people business – you will be accountable for the management of a diverse people business ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues is your number one priority.
  • You will maintain and build relationships with established accounts across the ACT.
  • You will ensure the delivery of services to clients no less than the requirements of our contractual arrangements
  • You will manage the cost base of the business ensuring we provide services that delight our clients and are profitable
  • You will be accountable for the State budget.
  • As you are managing regional accounts - regional travel is essential as a part of this role.
  • Proven experience in the ability to manage operations within established budgets.
  • Sales and marketing background as well as business management profit and loss experience
  • Ensure an environment that promotes effective communications, positive employee relations, and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to write business proposals and assist in negotiating key contracts.
  • Requirement to oversee and supervise events for clients (outside of ordinary business hours)
  • Understand, interpret, and apply contract deliverables. 
  • High level people management skills – with the ability to train coach and influence people. 

What we are looking for in a candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years managing and leading the delivery of Security Services to clients
  • You are well organised, confident, and able to work to tight time frames.
  • You have outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • We are a people business – you have deep and broad experience in leading and managing staff whilst at all times putting safety at the centre of everything that we do.
  • You are a team player and you can also to operate autonomously.
  • You have demonstrated ability to work with a diverse existing client base and build lasting relationships. 
  • You are an effective communicator
  • You have a positive, can - do, attitude, high-level of customer service, and be able to react and think ‘on your feet’ when required.

Essential:

  • Relevant State Security License
  • Relevant tertiary qualification preferably in a commercial stream (e.g., Security industry, Property & Facilities management, marketing, financial/accounting or business ) and can demonstrate an ongoing commitment to learning and personal development.
