Greenlight Super Services is a small, yet rapidly growing SMSF, taxation and accounting firm which is expanding its presence in the Canberra market. Due to the growth of the firm a fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a professional Accountant to join the team. This is a key role within the firm and would suit someone who enjoys working with people, looking after clients and working with management that cares, supports and empowers the team.
Details about the role:
- Preparation of financial statements and activity statements;
- Development of financial performance and management reports;
- Engaging with clients via face-to-face meetings, telephone and in writing to communicate advice and resolve queries;
- Payroll processing, including management of superannuation and tax liabilities;
- Compiling accurate client source documentation for preparation of returns;
- Providing advice on tax matters – specific to SMSFs (Income Tax, GST, Capital Gains Tax, fundamentals of trust law, and superannuation provisions);
- Preparation of tax returns for SMSFs, individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts accurately and within set deadlines;
- Identifying best outcomes to maximise returns for clients, including knowledge of various tax deduction rules;
- Compilation of supporting documentation in preparation of returns, detailing issue resolution and clearly articulating how certain figures/outcomes were achieved;
- Working closely with the Directors and other staff to manage client relationships and deliver outcomes in a timely manner;
- Managing workflows including time management and prioritisation of jobs
To be successful you will have:
- Tertiary accounting qualifications in either commerce or accounting
- Completion (or intention to complete) CA or CPA program
- Experience in a business services (accounting and tax), along with a strong interest and /or experience working with SMSFs
- Experience in working with contemporary accounting systems including Xero and MYOB
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work deadlines, completing work accurately and demonstrating self-checking skills
- Understanding of value of strong business relationships
- Influential and effective communication skills
- Ability to understand the needs of others, working as a cohesive team to deliver great outcomes
