The Position
We are seeking a motivated, dedicated and dynamic accounting professional to join our Finance team in the role of Accountant. This exciting role is ideal for an Accountant with experience in both standard financial and management accounting, and who is looking to broaden their experience in large and diverse organization, working alongside a team of qualified and experienced accounting professionals.

Working closely with the Manager and Accountants, you will be required to undertake duties involving but not limited to:

  • Monthly management reporting with the Accountants and supported by the Manager – Finance Services;
  • Ensuring the financial information is accurate and reconciles to the General Ledger;
  • Ensuring the General Ledger is accurately maintained and free from errors;
  • Review and analyse variances of the profit and loss and balance sheet accounts against the organisational budget;
  • Responsibility for balance sheet accounts and performing reconciliations;
  • Participate in preparation of the yearly capital and operational budget;
  • Data analysis to support contract negotiations;
  • Create financial models to support Management and the Board of Directors in decision making;
  • Other ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required by Management and Board of Directors

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or other relevant formal qualification (CA/CPA advantageous).
  • Demonstrated experience working within a Financial and/or Management accounting role (3+ years).
  • Demonstrated experience preparing Financial Models and Budgets.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and their practical application in a large organisation.
  • High level of computer literacy and competence (MS Word, Excel, experience with Point of Sales (POS) systems and complex Accounting packages e.g. Epicor or SAP).
  • Sound working knowledge of management accounting practices and analysis of business financial and performance results.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to present information and develop rapport with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Healthcare experience would be advantageous but not mandatory.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements
