Accountant
Description - General duties
- Overseeing billing, tax invoices, payment receipts and remittance advices
- Manage client queries, Prepare required reports/statements to clients, and ensure timely collection of debtors.
- Oversee the end to end payroll processing for the business units and examination of expenditure on labour.
- Manage petty cash expenditure and account for corporate card transactions
- Perform bank reconciliation on weekly basis
- Update and maintain accounting journals and general ledgers
- Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, including adjustments, inter-company accounting, accounts reconciliations and depreciation schedule maintenance
- Prepare Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement on monthly and annual basis
- Produce reports for presentation to business directors and management to assist with the evaluation of business operations
- Examine the income & expenses of the business to ensure accuracy of data and advise on the profitability
- Review and maintain the setup of accounting system
- Assist the management in formulating and improving accounting policies & procedures
- Ensuring the compliance of internal control
- Prepare and lodge BAS on monthly and quarterly basis
- Prepare annual tax work papers and liaise with external accountant on filing company tax returns
- Ensure all other ATO and ASIC obligations are met
- Other accounting and finance duties as directed by CEO and GM.
Criteria
To be successful, you will need to meet the following; -
- Degree in accounting and CPA (desirable)
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Strong numeracy skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet regular deadlines
- Experience with MYOB
- Eligibility to work in Australia
