RASHAYS CAFES & RESTAURANTS PTY LTD is seeking an experienced, commercially minded Accountant with extensive experience and knowledge in both Franchising systems and Food Manufacturing with a specific focus on taxation, auditing, insolvency, budgeting, cost management and planning.
Our preferred ideal candidate must have comprehensive experience in both the retail food and beverage space and an intrinsic understanding of cost-management as it relates to a mass food manufacturing brand, ensuring they present as a “best-in-class” finance and management processes specialist. You'll play an integral part in offering guidance on related performance and compliance standards & strategic governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the delivery, execution, and monitoring of budgets for Revenue, Procurement, Logistics, Production departments, and Accounting procedures.
- Conducting audits and providing advice on issues including business acquisitions, income, expenditure, sales, suspected fraud and insolvency.
- Creating financial statements that will be presented to shareholders, management, boards of directors, and other statutory and governing bodies.
- Conducting monthly reviews comparing actual results against budgeted figures.
- Collaborating with Senior Leadership teams to analyse variances, identify trends, and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Engaging with brokers and financial institutions to set up funds management arrangements.
- Ensuring that insurance coverage is adequate at all times.
- Collaborating with external accountants to prepare financial statements and tax returns.
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal tax regulations including payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and GST.
- Generating monthly financial reports and conduct analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Providing forecasted cashflow analysis.
- Ensuring that all monthly balance sheet asset and liability balances are supported by proper reconciliations.
- Generating insightful financial reports for senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and their compliance with statutory requirements.
- Working closely with department heads to understand and track budget performance.
- Engaging with offshore finance support team(s) to streamline company financial processes.
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance or higher qualification.
- Minimum 2 years financial management experience that involves dealing with colleagues at a senior financial level
- Engagement within a mid-sized, privately held company.
- Significant experience with finance functions; solid working knowledge of other business functions in food processing/manufacturing experience including a deep understanding of cost-allocation accounting.
- Experience in finance, accounting, tax, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, cash management, forecasting and preparation of related reports and statements.
- Experience managing the components of finance, accounting, treasury, and customer service.
