About the Role:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Accountant to support our business's operation. Your role will include financial records and reports, compliance with accounting regulations, audits and financial analysis, etc.
You will need to perform the following duties:
- Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, journal entries, HQ7 reconciliation, etc.
- Researching and analysing the accounting data and providing financial information to management and directors.
- Utilising financial software systems proficiently to streamline financial data processing and reporting.
- Manage and analyse the company’s accounts, including Wage accounts, PAYG accounts, Superannuation accounts, Salary sacrifice accounts, Rebates accounts, Group Intercompany accounts between Australia and New Zealand, Purchase Clearing Reports, etc.
- Preparing weekly reports, including Exception Reports, Stock Reports, KPI Reports, NRWT analyses, and foreign exchange management.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Working on the departmental monthly forecasting and reporting to the Finance Manager.
- Working on the month-end closing, as well as providing various reports for internal review purposes, and reporting to the Finance Manager.
- Analysing and reporting the financial impacts of pricing movements and responding to internal cost analysis requests.
- Collaborating with the finance team to conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify key performance indicators, trends, and areas for improvement, and supporting the Finance Manager in making strategic decisions to enhance financial performance.
- Utilising historical data and market trends to assist in financial forecasting, enabling the company to plan and allocate resources effectively, and developing budgets for various departments and projects.
- Monitoring AP and AR aging, cash flow and any other ad-hoc task as required.
- Working with the preparation of annual external and internal audits as required.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations (including but not limited to PAYG, Super, FBT, and GST), preparing accurate tax returns and liaising with tax authorities to address any tax-related matters.
- Implementing and maintaining internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and prevent fraudulent activities.
- Implementing and monitoring relevant finance processes and policies, supporting the Finance Manager to ensure the processes and controls are robust within policy guidelines.
- Preparing and updating policies and procedures such as purchasing workflows and expense claim processing.
- Staying updated with the latest accounting standards and best practices.
- Maintaining integrated accounting systems and developing new tools for the company to make accounting processes more efficient.
- Completing database backups and securing financial information and maintaining financial security through internal control.
The essential requirement for this position:
- At least bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 3 years close related experience in a commercial environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and legislation
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
