The Client & Role:
We're currently working with an easter-suburbs based logistics company who are looking to bring on a Systems Infrastructure Analyst, you will be responsible for engaging with technology vendors and managed service providers to ensure all technologies are managed as per the MSA's and that all technologies are current and supported.
Responsibilities:
- Log incidents, troubleshoot, report, and provide updates to system owners and end users on current issues.
- Liaise with vendors and business owners on the installation of patches, bug fixes and version upgrades.
- Provide feedback and strive for improvements in all aspects of the infrastructure environment.
- Participate in the planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans for all systems.
- Ensure Backups & Recovery processes are in place and current for all systems.
- Review/update system documentation in accordance with agreed standards.
- Understand and apply knowledge of the policies, procedures and work instructions provided by the employer.
- Ensure all technologies are covered by Vendors' Support and/or Warranty Agreements
- Ensure all technologies are maintained at the required software release, firmware, and operating system levels to maintain full vendor support.
- Maintain Life Cycle management records for software, hardware, and operating systems
- Maintain Service Catalogue
- Maintain Configuration Management (CMDB) information including Certificates and Telecommunication links.
- CIS L1 Benchmark across all hardware and participate in yearly Audits in PCI, CIS and other essential IT audits.
Required Skills & Specialisms:
- A degree qualification in Computer Science, IT or related discipline is desirable.
- Operational experience in a 24x7, transaction processing environment.
- Knowledge of ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with management on current issues or other matters of importance.
- Demonstrated ability to follow processes
- Demonstrated ability to create and update technical documentation
- Analytical and investigative skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- Working knowledge of Networking and Storage technologies.
- Exposure to but not required: Elasticsearch ELK / Kibana, Shareplex, Business Objects, BIRT, Python, JavaScript, JBoss, Web Services, Quality Centre, Oracle 12c or above, MS SQL Server, PL/SQL.
- Extensive experience (e.g. 7+ years) in ICT support.
