An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced Accountant looking to work in a dynamic sporting environment. You will play a key role in administering the accounting function for both Rugby League and Junior League for the Canterbury Bulldogs. In this role, you will assist in ensuring the accounting processes and reporting systems are efficient, effective, and proactively support business decision making. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of the financial accounting function whilst being exposed to the specialist nature of Rugby League and Junior League financial management.

Your Main Duties and Responsibilities will include:

• Assist in all facets of Rugby League and Junior League monthly reporting, including monthly Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Board Reports;
• Maintain strong relationships with Rugby League Department Managers and ensure they receive accurate and timely information for preparation of their budgets and reporting on a monthly basis;
• Develop and driving process improvement initiatives within the finance team.
• Assist Finance Manager with ad hoc finance projects and key deliverables throughout financial year including FBT, annual audit and annual budgeting processes.  
• Manage AR and AP processes and look for efficiencies to streamline these current processes
• General data entry and processing as required.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accountant or similar role;
• Relevant Tertiary qualifications; Working towards or equivalent CPA qualification is highly desired.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills;
• Intermediate to advanced computer including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in your work;
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines and;
• Attention to  detail and high accuracy.
