Roshana Group of Companies is involved in the delivery of community services, in particular, Aged Care Nursing Homes, Retirement Villages and Psychiatric Hostel services. With a Head Office based in Burswood WA, this privately owned company has 9 Aged Care sites, 4 Psychiatric Hostels and Retirement Villages located in WA, NSW, and QLD.
About the Role
An excellent opportunity has become available for a positive-thinking, hard-working person to join the Roshana Group’s Head office finance team on a full-time basis as an Accountant.
The ideal person for this role must be focused, possess a willingness to learn and master the use of our systems and processes and be a team player who can also work on their own.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate and complete annual audits
- Oversee the preparation of fortnightly payroll and preparation of PAYG summaries, superannuation liabilities, payroll tax and workers’ compensation.
- Bank reconciliations and transaction recording.
- Performing the month-end close including posting journals
- Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, banking, and inter-company reconciliations
- Preparation of GST, FBT, Payroll and Corporate Income Tax returns
- Completion of the monthly accruals, prepayments, journals, fixed assets, depreciation, and insurance schedules
- Assisting in preparing financial statements and reports for the group
- Monitoring intercompany variances
- Assisting in preparing the monthly consolidation for the group
- Active involvement in group projects that require financial reporting input.
- Assisting in the half-year and annual audit preparation and liaising with external Accountants and external Auditors
- Oversee transactional team ie accounts payable, receivable and payroll.
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting preferably in Aged Care sector
- CPA/CA qualified or equivalent
- Experience in Care System or any other similar accounting software.
- Process and deadline driven person with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong excel skills are essential.
- Strong team player who can develop ongoing working relationship.
