Accountant
We are looking for an Accountant, based in Sydney to join our dynamic team. The Accountant reports directly to the Regional Finance Manager, Asia Pacific and is responsible for the full set of accounts.
Your responsibilities
- Responsible for full spectrum of accounts, including (account payable/account receivable /General ledger/Fixed Assets)
- Prepare and review month end journal entries in compliance with local GAAP and company policies
- Ensure sufficient supporting documents are attached to each journal
- Ensure timely closing of month end report and related deliverables in accordance with global/regional calendar
- Complete and review monthly company profit & loss account and all sections of the Balance Sheet accurately and on a timely basis
- Prepare supplementary reporting, analysis and support on Balance Sheet reconciliation
- Work closely with operations team on billing and AR collection matters
- Check and prepare payments, ensuring all transactions are with proper approval, recorded timely and accurately in SAP
- Verify all payment and claims for reimbursement, corporate card and travel expenses
- Work closely with external auditors to manage and complete the annual financial audit in a timely manner
- Work closely with tax agent to prepare annual income tax returns, FBT returns and income tax computation
- Manage external compliance reporting, including GST, BAS and PAYG
- Follow up closely on outstanding finance matters
- Ensure all accounting records are properly filed and maintained
- Report to Regional Finance Manager or Regional Finance Director on any important matters arising as soon as they have been made known or identified, so that necessary actions can be taken
- Prepare annual budget, monthly re-forecasts and variance analysis
- Work closely with BCD Travel Finance team, for example on intercompany matters and statutory reporting matters
- Assist in process improvement projects and ad-hoc matters
We’re looking for you if your profile matches the following:
- Diploma/degree in accounting / finance or equivalent with professional certification with local or international accountancy body
- Minimum 2 years of accounting / finance experiences
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) preferred
- Strong quantitative analytical skills with eye for details
- Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
- Good team player with ability to work independently
- Proactive, positive and capable of problem solving
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
