Our client, Aquanaut Pty Ltd, was founded in 1999. The company's line of business includes the wholesale distribution of sporting and recreation goods. Sharkskin brand was founded in Australia by the owners of Aquanaut Pty Ltd to address the need for divers to stay warm during and after a dive.
Their range of products started with a core selection of dive-specific items and expanded into all water sports categories with the help of a passionate and dedicated team of administrators and designers, along with an impressive collection of global ambassadors. Located at 4/17 Babilla Close, Beresfield, New South Wales 2322, Sharkskin’s range of products can now be found in most major markets around the world.
This is for a full-time Accountant role with an annual salary of $70,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities:
• Preparing year-end and quarter-end financial reports (such as Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, etc.).
• Preparing GST returns for the business.
• Preparing all reports to analyse the company's growth via sales, receivables, payables, inventory, etc., and presenting them to the senior management.
• Posting superannuation monthly and allocating profit centres.
• Executing the year-end closing procedure.
• Preparing budgets with revenue forecasts and expenses at the start of the financial year.
• Preparing year-end taxation returns.
• Ensuring that account statements are prepared in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Preparing BAS and reporting any undue increase/decrease in payments.
• Maintaining and updating company information with ASIC.
• Coordinating with the Senior Accountant, Directors, and field staff to control business operating costs and increase efficiency and profit.
• Managing fixed assets and conducting yearly stock takes.
• Maintaining proper backup files for research and reference.
• Maintaining financial security by following proper internal controls.
• Ensuring the business complies with all current accounting standards.
• Evaluating the proficiency of the accounting software used to organise data and replacing it with updated software if necessary.
The Requirements:
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen to understand the dynamics of a complex, evolving industry.
• At least two (2) years of relevant experience with particular attention to detail.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with Xero accounting software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask, work independently, and prioritise tasks.
• Proven track record of increased responsibilities and scope.
