As our bookkeeper you will be reporting directly to the director, this hands-on role will support all financial aspects of the company and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for an individual who can commit approximately 20 - 25 flexible hours a week. On offer is a package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The primary purpose of this role includes:
Leadership & Management
- Exemplary leadership, commitment and reinforces a culture of positivity and productivity
- Ability to positively influence the team across roles and functions
- Payroll & Superannuation Payments (Xero and Deputy)
- Employment contracts and keeping up to date with related HR activities
Reporting & Analysis
- Maintaining up to date accounting records, including bank reconciliations
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Preparation of Quarterly, Monthly, and ad-hoc reports for management, ensuring accuracy of reports
- Preparation and lodgement of Payroll Tax Return
- Preparation and lodgement of Quarterly BAS and Monthly IAS for the business
- Ensuring integrity and accuracy of daily import process from Retail Express to Xero
- Preparation of year end reports to assist external accountant in preparation of annual Income Tax Return
Planning & Budgeting
- Preparing budgets and cash flow forecast as requested by management
- Preparing variance analysis on a regular basis to determine areas of improvement
- Develop and implement process improvements in the business
- Develop and implement of long-term strategic goals for the business
Administration
- Lease and supplier contract negotiation
- Professional stakeholder management
- Ad-hoc matters as required
The successful applicant will posses:
- Minimum of five years industry experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated strong accounting experience, Tax/BAS agent an advantage
- Minimum of three years’ experience working with Xero
- Experience working in the Retail Industry an advantage
- Experience working with Retail Express an advantage
- Strong analytical and IT skills
- Personable, confident, and enthusiastic with good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
