Elecnor has been contracted to build EnergyConnect, a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border.
This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy enabling a further 4950MW of generation capacity, save NSW customers $180 million a year and create 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW.
Construction of EnergyConnect is underway in various locations across the project area.
This role is located in the Sydney office, and would work as part of the existing Finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
- Examining operating costs and organisations income
- Introducing and maintaining accounting systems
- Maintaining internal control systems
- Analysing Cash flow
- Handling monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations
- Liaising with Plant & Equipment team for maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Inventory adjustment and control
- Preparing annexes of assets for financial statements
- Preparing / analysing financial statements
- Assist the Finance Manager with various other tasks as required.
Your skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting, ideally CA qualified
- Ideally 3+ years in engineering or construction industry, (Ideally with direct experience on large value projects)
- Experience in an accounting role in a corporate, commercial environment
- Experience with month end processes
