Position Available: AccountantRole Description:The Accountant, reporting to the Business Manager, plays a vital role in providing Finance and Accounting services crucial for fulfilling the College's commitment to delivering exemplary learning experiences and supporting student well-being programs. This entails optimizing academic, co-curricular, social, emotional, and spiritual outcomes for students. Additionally, the Accountant closely collaborates with the Business Manager to ensure the availability of timely, precise, and current financial data for the Principal and College Advisory Board, facilitating effective management of financial resources. Responsibilities:Finance:Lead day-to-day financial operations of the school.Maintain fixed asset register and associated policies.Ensure accuracy and compliance of finance systems and procedures.Prepare and process general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy.Complete monthly bank reconciliations and analyze variances.Liaise with College auditors for necessary finance reports and audits. Creditors:Oversee accurate input and processing of supplier invoices.Ensure timely payment of all creditor invoices.Liaise with suppliers for competitive pricing and purchasing procedures. Payroll:Oversee preparation and processing of payroll.Ensure accuracy and timely processing of all payroll liabilities. Debtors:Process billings for family accounts and non-student income.Manage aged debtors and debt collection processes. Other:Assist with census completion and College Capital Works projects.Commit to ongoing professional development. Selection Criteria:Service-oriented management skills with problem-solving ability.Excellent organisational skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Proficiency in information and communication technologies.Commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth. Qualifications/Experience:Working with Children Check card and a National Police Record Check.Appropriate tertiary qualifications, with further study an advantage.Experience in an educational or institutional setting is advantageous.
