About Peregrine
Peregrine is a privately held company specialising in property development and management and diversified investments.
Its core activities comprise:
Developments: property construction and development, focussing on convenience and retail sites and bespoke commercial projects.
Property: ownership and management of a diversified real estate portfolio including retail, commercial and industrial properties.
Family office: investment and administration.
Motorsport: operation of The Bend and Mallala motorsport precincts.
About the role
The Accountant coordinates the preparation of information required by the business to meet our reporting obligations. The role assists with interpretation and application of relevant legislation, regulations, or standards relating to Peregrine’s business activities. The Accountant will also assist in the preparation of tax reporting to the standard required for lodgement by our external tax agents.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain precise and current financial records.
Prepare routine financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements), reflecting.
Peregrine’s financial performance
Monitor and categorise expenses, ensuring alignment with budget allocations and proper expense recognition.
Assist in the preparation of tax returns, adhering to relevant tax guidelines and regulations.
Provide essential documentation to facilitate both internal and external audit processes.
Contribute to budget creation and financial forecasting activities, comparing actual performance with projected figures.
Recommend and prepare tax-specific entries and adjustments in the accounts.
Investigate and recommend/prepare corrections for complex tax issues or anomalies in the accounts.
Review the financial accounts and our system setup (vendors, products etc) for tax compliance issues.
Analyse accounts and provide explanation in response to complex requests from the business relating to our taxation position.
Contribute to the development and application of accounting policy in line with tax, banking, and other requirements.
Contribute to the preparation of information for specific ATO reviews and requests.
Collaborate seamlessly with external partners (including tax agents, auditors, regulatory bodies etc.) to provide financial insights and address inquiries.
Any other duties as requested from time to time.

Key skills and experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
CA or CPA with at least 4+ years in a financial accountant role.
Advance Excel skills with a demonstrated high level of finance modelling
Strong communication and analytical skills
Keen literacy, time management and interpersonal skills with an ability to work well independently.
