With 30 employees in our office in Ivanhoe, we are looking for an experienced public practice accountant to complement our humble, down to earth leadership team.
The work you complete will be complex in nature; challenging yet rewarding and you will receive full support from the senior leadership team to continue to develop and grow both technically and professionally.
With a passion for Client Relationship Management and the development of others, the ideal candidate is an experienced leader who is accountable, organised and looks to add value to each client engagement. Other duties will include;
- Manage and mentor a team to achieve their goals and performance metrics
- Build and enhance client relationships, partnering with our clients to achieve their goals
- Review of complex work, providing constructive feedback for team members to further develop skills and capabilities
- Attend client meetings and deliver client work in agreed timeframes and our service standards.
- Reconcile accounts and transactions in Xero & MYOB.
- Research tax-related issues and provide advice to clients on business operations, regulatory matters, restructures, accounting system implementation, estate planning, succession planning.
- Apply a commercial approach to business-related tax compliance matters e.g. fringe benefits tax, tax planning, payroll assistance and any other tax or business services related matters; and
- Ad hoc research work as required.
Skill and Qualifications for success:
- Degree qualified and in the process of completing your CPA or CA
- Demonstrated capability to lead and grow a team
- Exceptional communication and relationship management skills
- At least 5 - 7 years of experience within a practice environment undertaking advisory, tax, and accounting work
- Highly competent skills and experience working with Xero
- Understanding of how to use MYOB
- Ability to service a client's file autonomously and with minimal oversight from your Manager
- Experience reviewing work and coaching staff to achieve positive outcomes
- Excellent attention to detail, time management skills and ability to prioritise work; and
- A desire to learn, share your knowledge and progress
