ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Management Accountant Qube Energy, the primary purpose of the Accounts Officer is to co-ordinate and perform clerical accounts functions for the assigned regions, as well as assisting the key relationships to adhere to company policies. Based in Altona, this position offers a part-time flexible schedule, with three days a week from our office location.
Specific Responsibilities may include:
- Co-ordinate operational information and input data into invoicing system within required time frames to ensure customer contracts are adhered to
- Ensure all revenue is captured
- Ensure all client invoices are sent out following company procedure
- Ensure all month end deadlines are met
- Ensure all vendor invoices are authorised in accordance with company policy
- Code invoices using company’s chart of accounts
- Match invoices to purchase orders and process
- Reconcile supplier statements on a monthly basis
- Provide accrual information for AP & AR at month end
- Scan and save all batches to appropriate folders
- Maintain filing systems both electronic and physical
- Any other associated task
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office & Excel
- Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution
- Ability to work well within a small team environment
Key Competencies/Skills
- Understanding of standard accounting rules & regulations in regard to the role
- Ability to use Peoplesoft accounting system preferable
- Familiarity with the concepts involved in multiple business unit / cost centre accounting
