About the role:
  
This is a 9 month fixed term contract in a cohesive and flexible team environment. Must have prior experience in a professional services environment.

Key Accountabilities:  

  • Review and verify legal / trade creditor invoices, including obtaining relevant approvals and coding
  • Data entry / upload legal / trade creditors into the practice management system
  • Upload daily matter related disbursements (e.g. searches) into the practice management system
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments (including scheduled payment runs)
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable transactions / AP ageing report
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain vendor / payee files
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to enquiries
  • Corporate credit card / out of pocket expense management system (Zeno) - review expense claims / submissions for coding and supporting tax invoices, and upload into the practice management system.
  • Corporate credit cards (American Express) - outstanding submission reporting and reminders
  • Corporate Mastercards (Cape) - record entries, reconcile and top up as required
  • Handling and preparation of any General Office Account bank cheques
  • Monitor and respond to the Accounts Payable ticket queue
  • Work with the Credit team to arrange client refunds
  • Provide supporting documentation and assist with the annual audits
  • Ad hoc projects and backup support as directed by the CFO/Financial Controller
Essential Competencies:  
  • Experience working as an Accounts Payable Officer in a similar professional services or suitably corporate environment
  • Proficient in data entry
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience working to deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs of business
  • Ideally systems experience in Elite 3E or similar
