Deanes Coaches Group is a family owned and operated company operating a variety of Privately Contracted School Buses in the ACT along with Charter and Tour work, ranging from local school transfers within the Canberra region, day charters, snow tours, educational tours and extended tours as well as worker transfers for the Snowy 2.0 project. We have recently purchased Potter Travel and operate our own regular Day and Extended Tours for the Seniors market.
We are offering an opportunity for a detail-oriented, part-time Accounts & Payroll Clerk to join our team. Working approximately 25 to 30 hours per week across 5 days, you will be based in our Fyshwick office, working closely with our Financial Controller. Although we are a small team, we are genuinely friendly. We are seeking an individual who is warm, friendly, and has a can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficient and accurate processing of supplier invoices and employee reimbursements.
- Reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Managing accounts receivable tasks, including daily invoicing and collections to ensure prompt receipt of payments.
- Conducting bank reconciliations.
- Handling the processing of new employee contracts and terminations.
- Ensuring the accuracy of data entry for weekly payroll processing.
- Following up with drivers for paperwork.
- Reviewing shared email inboxes and taking necessary actions or redirecting queries as needed.
- Performing general clerical duties such as data entry, filing, scanning, archiving, etc.
- Assisting the Financial Controller as required.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in Book Keeping, Accounting or Finance.
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Experience with MYOB & Xero.
- Strong skills in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Effective communication skills for professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to follow instructions & work well within a team.
